FAQ

FAQ’S Don Doan Dash – 5K

What’s different about this 5k run ?
This is the first official race put on by The Brampton Benders. It is in support of ALS Canada and our dear friend and founding member Don Doan who was diagnosed with ALS and who the race is named after. Part of the race will also take place on the Don Doan Trail.

What is the course like ?
The course is a loop around Professors Lake that begins with a short out and back portion before following paths and streets that surround Professor’s lake. It is flat with a few small rolling hills totally 21 meters of elevation change throughout. Route can be found here

Is there an age limit?
Nope. Young or old, all are welcome. We have a 1 1/2 hour time limit to complete which allows for walking at a comfortable pace and finishing with lots of time to spare.

Are walkers welcome ?
Absolutely! 1 1/2 hour time limit allows for plenty of time to complete at a comfortable pace.

Are strollers, roller blades or bikes allowed ?
Please no pets or roller blades are allowed on the course for safety reasons.  Strollers are permitted, but should line up near the rear of the start line.

Are pets allowed ?
No, sorry. Please leave pets at home.

How can I register ?
You can register on the link from the main race page which takes you to the Running Room link. Found here.

Can I register on the day of  the run ?
Yes. It’s an additional $5 to register on race day, so we recommending saving some $$$ and register early. Registration forms available at the race.

What should I wear ?
Wear what you would run in regularly, check the weather first. There’s a race shirt which would be fun if everyone wore. Costumes and other fun things are also encouraged. Just leave sharp and pointy parts to your costume at home.

Parking?
There’s parking at Professor’s Lake and surrounding streets. We encourage car pools because less cars means better parking spots for everyone.
