Tomorrow is the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon. ?Our own club was featured as a member of the STWM Tribes program and now race day is here. ?For some it is their first full marathon, for others it is another marathon/half in the books. ?Either way we would like to wish all our Benders participating in this event a great race. ?The weather looks to be promising!! It is a busy weekend for races this weekend. ?A group of Benders will be heading over to Quebec to participate in the Rock n Roll marathon in Montreal and Firmo and Samantha have headed over to Germany to participate in the Berlin marathon. We would like to welcome Amanda to the Benders. She ran with us a few times early this year in the Marathon Clinic, but due to a busy work schedule she had a hard time coming out on a regular basis. She has finally seen the light and joined our running club. Her goal is to run a good Boston race next year. This weekend, good luck to Steve, who’s doing a 100 miler in Michigan. Sunday was the kick off of the ENDURrun. ?This week long event includes 7 stages to the race. Stage 1 – kicks things off with a half marathon. Stage 2 – 15km time trial Stage 3 – 30km trail run Stage 4 – 10 mile (16km) hill run (that does not sound fun!) Stage 5 – 25.6km Alpine run Stage 6 – 10km time trial Stage 7 – finishes things off with a full marathon. This event is a true test of endurance and we have a few Benders participating? Read more
We would like to offer great support and wish Manolo?an amazing race tomorrow as he competes in Ironman, Lake Placid. ?Ironman is no easy feat. ?For those that do not know an Ironman is a 4km swim (3.86), followed by a 180.25km bike ride and then a 42.2km run to finish it off. ?That’s right, you run a full marathon at the end. ?This race takes dedication to your training and Manolo has been dedicated and I am sure it will show with his race tomorrow. ?Good luck Manolo, we? I didn’t get a chance to wish a great race to John M., Chandra and Mario at the Toronto Triathlon Festival this weekend but I am happy to offer congratulations to all of them. Mario did a great job in his olympic distance triathlon which was a 1.5km swim, 40km bike and a 10km run. John M. also did a great job on his first ever olympic duathlon which was a 10km run, 40km bike and 5km run. Extra impressive was that he has been off running for a while? Read more

This Saturday is the 22nd annual Niagara Ultra Races featuring 100K, 50K, marathon and half marathon distances. ?This is a popular race as the 50K is sold out. ?Of course a bunch of Benders will be heading to Niagara on the Lake to participate and we want to wish them all a fantastic race.
